Greek cuisine is based on the Mediterranean triad of wheat, olive oil, and wine. It features vegetables, fish, meat, cheese, herbs, and yoghurt. It has influences from ancient, Byzantine, Ottoman, and other cultures. It offers dishes like pastitsio, skordilia and pita bread, spanakopita and tzatziki, and baklava.
